About our school

Rancho San Diego Elementary is a high-performing Cajon Valley elementary school in the unincorporated community of Rancho San Diego in San Diego County, California.

What we love about our school

  • Our community service projects are student-initiated and student-led.
  • We have a dedicated makers space for hands-on learning and technology studies. Many classrooms have robots, and students participate in coding lessons.
  • Every student receives a laptop computer for use in class and at home.
  • Our well-funded PTA provides art, music, drama, and technology education as well as funding for assemblies and other family events.
  • Two of Cajon Valley’s special education classrooms are located at our school, and through teacher-initiated programs, our traditional classes and special education classes get to spend time together.
  • We are located in a quiet residential neighborhood and have beautiful views of Mount Helix and several wildlife preserves.
  • Our campus is open-air with mature landscaping. We have three playgrounds, as well as a set of ball fields where we host PE, Field Day, movie nights, and carnivals.
  • Our student body is diverse and multi-lingual.
  • We are within walking distance to Hillsdale Middle School, Fury Lane Park, Cuyamaca College, and Rancho San Diego Library.
  • Our librarian is a former Barnes & Noble bookseller who is passionate about children’s literature and reading.
  • We have a JumpStart Preschool on site.
